YJ Power Steering pump to XJ pump write up.

I recently removed the old yj remote reservoir and pump and installed a XJ pump. In doing this I had to remove my air box but its worth it. I used an air raid intake.

So you will need the following items this is really straight forward.

You can either pick up a pump and you local auto parts store or get one off an XJ like I did. Just happen to have a scrapped XJ

I got the pump and bracket with pully from a donar XJ.

You will want to remove the drive belt then the old pump and hardware. Be sure to drain it before hand.

Then remove the bracket and pump. You will only need to remove the two bolts in the water pump and the ones that bolt into the intake.

do the reverse install with the XJ pump and bracket.

At this point the old High pressure line will not work you will need on that will route back around the XJ pump.

To solve this problem I used a 2000 TJ High pressure line I will post up a part number tomorrow for you. Cant find my receipt.

(Part No. 80293 By powercraft. Part number from Advanced Auto)

Then you will need a longer low pressure return line which you will cut to fit.

I had to find a belt that would fit b/c the stock belt for a 1992 YJ with AC would not work it was to long so I ended up with in the last pic with that part number.

Be sure to bleed the system before head ou

Since I used a XJ motor in the YJ and keep the XJ power steering bracket and pump I needed a different belt. This is the part number I used.
